The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) have shared a declaration that highlights the role of European standards in the consolidation of the European Union. CEN and CENELEC standards help Europe meet the current and future technological and societal challenges, and they support Europe’s priorities through improving business performance and creating trust.
The declaration states 5 strategic priorities in which normalization can effectively contribute to supporting the development of European policies:
– A harmonised Single Market
– A competitive European industry ready to lead in international trade
– Trust in new technology
– Enhanced innovation for Europe
– The Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda
