2nd BioRoboost General Assembly in Ghent, Belgium

On September 4th and 5th, the BioRoboost Consortium met in Ghent, Belgium, to celebrate the 2nd BioRoboost General Assembly, hosted by the University of Ghent. During the 2 days of the meeting, the partnership had the opportunity to discuss the work done during the first 12 months of the project and the next actions to carry out in the coming months. Among the first results of BioRoboost, the publication of two scientific papers about Synthetic Biology (SB) standards and social perception of SB (both in Open Access) was announced, as well as the update of the SEVA platform, an action included in the WP2 of the project, led by CSIC.

Among the coming events, the Consortium prepared the lasts arrangements of the BioRoboost exchange program, linked to WP4 (under the leadership of University of Edinburg ). This exchange has been designed to compare the most significant differences and similarities among the SB laboratories’ methodologies and processes, to study their similarities and main differences. All data gathered during the exchange program will help to work towards the standardisation of SB.
